By far the best vet I have ever been to! They have an incredibly kind and knowledgeable staff who put together a comprehensive plan for my dog’s treatment. This is a precise operation, not a vet that throws stuff at a wall and sees what sticks. I would give them 6 stars, but they only allow 5.

I have wanted to write this for a long time, but it has been very difficult. My little Benji started limping on 10/26/2024, and his condition worsened by 10/31. I called Gregory Veterinary and made the first available appointment with Dr. Dworkin on 11/4. Benji was 12, but you never would have known it by the way he played and carried on. At that first visit, Dr. Dworkin took 3 x-rays and told me it was likely arthritis. Benji was prescribed carprofen, but it did nothing to help. When he continued to get worse, I brought him back on 11/19. At that visit, 6 more x-rays were taken. I explained that the carprofenwas not helping, but I was again told it was arthritis and to continue the medication. When I asked if there was anything else I could give him, Dr. Dworkin suggested tramadol and gabapentin. I specifically explained that Benji had an adverse reaction to Gabapentin and could not take it, yet I was still given a prescription for it and had to return it. I also followed the recommendation to try laser treatment, but Benji still did not improve. Dr. Dworkin also informed me that Tramadol was the only pain medication she could prescribe. I later learned that laser therapy may be inappropriate in cases where cancer has not been ruled out, which made that recommendation especially upsetting in hindsight. Later, I received a call from one of the receptionists saying that Dr. Dworkin felt the only thing left to do was to get an MRI and see a neurologist. By 11/26, I knew Benji was getting worse and seemed to be in a great deal of pain. I brought him to Tampa Bay Emergency Vet, where Dr. Valerie Prise took more x-rays and gave us the devastating diagnosis: Benji had osteosarcoma and a tumor on his lung. I was told palliative care was the only option. She prescribed codeine and amantadine for his pain and also gave me information for Lap of Love. Benji went over the Rainbow Bridge on 11/28, almost exactly one month after he first started limping. I am heartbroken that my baby suffered far more than he ever should have. In my opinion, my concerns were not taken seriously enough, his worsening condition was not properly recognized, and his pain was not adequately managed. I am sharing this because I do not want another family and their beloved pet to go through what Benji did.

All of the staff are friendly, caring, and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. They take the time to answer questions and genuinely show compassion for both pets and their owners. Dr. Abercrombie is a great vet who is knowledgeable, calm, and practical in her approach. She doesn't overreact or recommend unnecessary treatments, which really helps build trust and confidence in the care provided. You can tell she truly cares about the animals and wants what is best for them. I don't know her name but she now has bright red hair. She is alway super sweet and knowleges me and my pets when we are there and takes special care. Knowledgeable, calm, and practical in his approach.

Excellent care! All staff members went above and beyond to calm my nerves and care for my pup. Both receptionists I interacted with on the phone (Dee and Heather, I think?) were so so lovely! I called after catching my dog swallowing a rotisserie chicken on the Furbo camera and they both told me exactly what to do, what to look for, and were very calm which made me feel better about the whole thing. I had three separate phone calls with them and the next morning when my dog vomited, they were able to get us in to see the vet same day in order to avoid a possible ER trip over the weekend. My pup and I met Dr. Dworkin for the first time (Dr Wynn is our usual vet) and I was impressed by how thorough she was! I am so appreciative of everyone at Gregory! Compassionate, highly skilled care from start to finish with everyone we interact with!

We absolutely love this veterinary office! From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel welcome and truly cared for. Everyone is so kind, compassionate, and attentive not just to us, but especially to our pets. It’s clear they genuinely love what they do. The veterinarians take the time to explain everything thoroughly and never make you feel rushed or pressured. They answer all of our questions with patience and make sure we feel confident about our pet’s care. We’ve always felt that our pets are in the best hands here. The office is clean, well-organized, and runs smoothly, which makes every visit stress-free. Whether it’s a routine check-up or something more serious, we trust them completely.
