My sheep was brutally mauled by a pack of domestic dogs, and Dr. Shrode saved her. Both she and the staff were great with me and the sheep throughout the surgery. Highly, highly recommend this place.

Dr. Shrode literally saved my dog's life! She treated him like he was apart of her own family! I found her office because our local vet brushed of our situation and referred us to a surgeon that couldn't get us in for 5 days just for a consultation! I called Dr Shrode's office panicked and they fit me in the same day within 2 hours and had a surgeon, Dr. Sawyer, come in the next morning to perform the pareanal hernia procedure on our dog. Because of her swift action and plan, the procedure went great without any surprises or ruptures! Had the situation waited I think the outcome would have been much different. It's clear she truly cares and is passionate about her patients health and her whole team is equally as great and passionate about the animals as well. Thank you to the entire team for helping our family and saving our best friend!

Had an emergent situation with my baby goat. My equine vet was going to be a bit to get to my gome so I called Hickory Hill. The receptionist was super sweet and attentive and even though I was not a client they got my baby "Goose" right in. The team immediately sprung into action and even allowed me to come to the treatment area as they worked him up. Dr. Shrode kept me informed of what they were doing and what his current status was. The entire team worked fast and efficiently! As stressful as the situation was, I couldn't have asked for a better team. They were all very nice, caring and professional. I have worked in the vet industry since I was in my early teens and I must say that it has always been hard for me to trust other practices that I dont work for. I can honestly say that I 110% trust all those amazing ladies and will be forever grateful for the care, compassion and diligence they all displayed. They stayed after hours and kept me updated on my baby. They work long hours and have their own families and pets waiting for them at home and still chose to put my Goose first. Many hats off to them. I dont think there are enough words to describe how amazing they are and how very grateful I am. I would give 10 stars if I could!!!!

Dr. Shrode and her team are the BEST. She treats both you and your pets like family, not just patients. She’s kind, warm and my dogs always feel comfortable with her. She is very compassionate and will sit right on the floor with you and your dog, do most things in the room with you (which all dog owners appreciate) and thoroughly explains her plan. If she doesn’t think you should spend your money on a certain service, she will tell you that. She’s honest. She consistently goes above and beyond at every visit to ensure my dogs receive the best possible care. I work with rescue dogs and have experience with many veterinary offices, so I’ve seen a wide range of approaches and she stands out as the best. If you are looking for a smart vet who will figure out the problem, that’s her. Her practice is also small and quiet, which makes a huge difference for my personal dogs and the anxious rescue dogs that I bring in. They all do great there. She also treats livestock and farm animals and you may occasionally see a pig or goat in the clinic - it’s pretty cool! Like I mentioned, I spend a lot of time in various vets offices from low-cost, full-service, speciality & ERs and over the last year, I have switched all of my dogs to her as their primary veterinarian. I can’t recommend her and her team enough - they are truly amazing! Thank you ladies!

Dr Shrode is the best vet I have had the opportunity to work with for the care of my 16 year old Catahoula. She successfully removed a large mass, and adapted quickly when general anesthesia was not an option for our girl. She also saw us through a pneumonia crisis when we thought our girl wasn't going to make it through. She is kind, compassionate, honest, respectful, and always willing to meet families where they are. Her staff are also top notch. Highly recommend!
