(from Google)I grew up climbing in these boulders. It never grows old to see the beauty of juxtaposed boulders with cottonwoods! Between the boulder canyons lies lush ecosystems with green grass, trees etc.
Great hike! Not a lot of parking but rarely busy. There's a trail map at every intersection and just follow the white dots when hiking on the rocky areas.
This is a relatively easy hike with some beautiful views. Signs with maps are at all the intersections, so it's easy to find your way and adjust the length of your hike as needed.
Beautiful!! We walked these trails every day on our Prescott visit. Well maintained trails, clean and lots of wildlife. Multiple bird species including Bald Eagle, Blue Herons, Canadian geese, Yellow-headed black birds, Towers, and deer, lizards, toads.
Very beautiful trail. Definitely a bit more challenging than the Peavine Trailhead on the opposite side of the lake. There are a couple ways to turn, but they will all lead you to the dam. One goes over the rocks and is shorter. One goes around along the stream but takes a little longer.
