Loved taking this path to the waterfall. Lots of plants and wild life. We saw several frogs along the way. The rain was on and off the whole hike. So bring shoes you don't mind getting wet and a plastic cover up or rain poncho. You'll still get wet but just a little less. It's humid but the rain keeps you cool.

A lot of stuff to see without having to hike too much, due to having good parking near the attractions. Awesome waterfalls and old structures made by the civilian conservation corps, including a lookout tower with an amazing view of the rain forest. We did the short hike to a waterfall that we got to swim in, and while it was a little packed it was well worth it. They are still repairing some of the damage from Hurricane Maria in 2018 including the most famous waterfall, but what we saw was great. Also being able to get piña coladas during a hike is the best.

A nice challenging hike. Definitely a place you want to visit if your touring the island. Make sure you make reservations tickets at recreation.gov, as you will need it to access the trail. Wet and rainy conditions are probable, so a pinch or light rain jacket may be more pleasant. I highly recommend bringing dry clothes for after the hike. It can be slippery, so make sure to wear appropriate footwear.

There are several popular trails in this area albeit after hurricane Maria several remain closed (Bigtree and Mina until end of 2019). Currently the open trails are Mount Britton, Britton Spurr, and El Yunque to Pico El Yunque. The service road is also open. Due to the hurricane and the damage to trees the canopy is very open which makes for great views of the island from above. On the Yunque trail there is a rock with fantastic view. Length of the open trail system around 2.5 miles and the same service road. People should be able to make a roundtrip to Britton Tower and Pico in 4 h or less depending on physical fitness. The Britton Trail is steep, the rest less steep.

This place is really beautiful. You can reach a cool waterfall and a gorgeous Vista. The hike all the way to the top took us about two hours each way. The "Los Picachos" area near the top was better than the actual peak.
